I'm not really sure what this camera is useful for. It has no provisions for putting it on a stand or any other kind amount that I can see other than some tiny holes in the corner of the PCB. It is a bear printed circuit board so you would have to be careful not too short anything out when using it. The lens is fixed it cannot be replaced. There's no standard lens mount here at all. The lenses fixed focus. You cannot focus it to improve the focus in the focus when I used it was not all that good. The lens has a lot of of radial distortio and looks not very good. See the attached picture taken using the camera. It is very tiny, which is interesting. I just can't figure out what I would use it for.

Well, I can confirm that this is a camera. And it works. The quality is good for 1080p.I was able to plug it in to my mac and use it as a normal webcam. I was able to plug it into my raspberry pi 2 (which is very old) and it was able to work.I was trying to put together a sort of security camera, and wasn't able to figure out how to program things the way I wanted, but that's an issue on my own part, I think. Either way, I am excited to figure out another use for this.

The camera module used here is fine for perfect conditions. Anything outside of perfect conditions though and things get a bit problematic.The picture is sharp the entire time, it is clearly a 1080p picture. But, if somewhat bright lights are shining or there any kind of hot spots the camera really struggles. It will blow out those highlights and wash out everything else.On the other end i low light, it's passable in a lot of low light shots, just has a lot of noise in the shot. Very little light and you see more noise than video.Also worth mentioning is the included cord attached to the camera module. It is one of the lowest quality USB cords I've seen in a while. Very hard and stuff refusing to even give up it's shipping bends. At about 1 meter / 3ish feet long, it's not going to route …

This review is for the ELP-USBFHD06H-L36 barebones camera module. Setup for this device was very easy. Windows 10/11 immediately recognized the camera. Initially the camera refresh was set to 50hz which is a problem here in the US if you use LED lighting, change it 60 hz in your app settings and you'll be fine. This camera was recognized by my Raspberry PI running OctoPrint with the only issues being the framerate.. Fortunately this too can be corrected in their settings (octopi.txt - just add: camera_usb_options="-r HD -f 30".My long term goal is to replace an existing webcam in my 3DP/Laser/CNC machine with this module. This is a basic maker camera that will work with just about any USB enabled device.Apologize for the shaky cam video. This really needs to be mounted to something - hence the 4 screw holes! This should give you a good idea about the distortion you should expect. I was holding this about 18-24 inches from the screen. Lots of pin cushion on the edges. Overall I would give the picture quality a B+. Its a very acceptable 1080p.You can see the size from the pictures - banana for scale but USB plug for scale probably works better. You can see from the backside connector that you can easily substitute a longer or shorter USB cable if needed.If you just need a USB camera, you will find cheaper and better with he ones designed for video conferencing.
