With a B/w 5x7 Newspaper photo affixed above signature (2 surfaces). French stage and screen actress Madeleine Renaud (1900-1994) appeared in that country's films for nearly 70 years (1923-1990). She appeared in one English-language film, as Mother Superior of a convent in The Longest Day (1962). However, the Marguerite Duras play shown here, first performed in France in 1965, was released as a film with the same cast in 1976. Renaud appeared in 10 Broadway productions from 1952, all in the French language, the last being the play shown here. She was married to actor/director Jean-Louis Barrault from 1940 until 1994, the year both died Lightly soiled.
