So easy to replace! It came with everything I needed to replace the lamp and took about ten minutes to change. The picture quality is excellent too! Just put it in, but will update if it goes out quickly.UPDATE: The bulb lasted about a month. It had continued use, but was completely shattered when I removed it. I had already ordered a replacement for it so I'll see how long this one lasts. I figure for the money, it's worth a few tries. I paid way more for my original bulb.

The product came on time and intact and I was able to insert it as easily as I removed the old one. The first 3 tries did not work. I prayed hard on my knees in front of my Divine Mercy image. I really did not want to spend money for a repairman to come out or buy another tv (my sony projection tv will be 7 yrs old in August this year). After that heartfelt prayer and pleading to The Lord, it worked!!! Yeah, yeah, I could hear many groans, laughter and/or sarcasm, but, hey, it worked!!! This is actually what's missing in the world today- many do not know or have forgotten about God. We are, after all, His creation, His children, and We all need Him in our lives. Faith and trust work. You'll just have to find it in your hearts. Good luck to all!!!

I had just purchased aTV off of someone, the last thing i expected was for a dang light to go out!..of course i thought it was going to cost 200+ to fix, which tempted me to just cut my losses..but my boyfriend mentioned that i could find the easy fix on amazon..Luckily, my boyfriend is talented in the area of fixing things, and he found the light which corresponded to the issue rather quickly. We typed it in on amazon- saw that it fit the sony TV we had, and i purchased the light- although let me admit i was very skeptical, i am not the kind of person that sees something online and just purchases it..i always think..worst case scenerio..plus, it didnt help that I saw some pretty scary reviews (i reallly looked), some said something about it not fitting properly, or not hitching the way …

I suppose a year and a half should be considered a victory and the lamp did its job fairly well, though it got darker and darker for the last several months and essentially blew up today. When I removed it, I notice the inside had completely shattered. My previous lamp lasted more than twice as long. Anyhow, for the price, I guess you can't expect much better. Pity. It's hard to know who to order these things from.

I bought a pair of these for my Sony Wega KDS-R50XBR1 50" and installed the first one this evening. Zero problems with the installation, fits perfectly, the set recognized it, and it was back up and running like new within minutes. The picture quality is bright and vibrant, so all seems well.The only thing I should mention here is that I'm told some of these generic replacement lamps burn out after only a few weeks or months of use, a much shorter time frame than they normally should last. The Replacement lamp arrived with a broken housing. The seal that said "No warranty if seal broken" was broken. The screw that was supposed to hold the back half to the front half was not working an fell out when we removed the lamp and housing from the box. The instructions in the box were incorrect and would never work on a Sony KDS-R50XBR1.Since the housing of the bulb I was replacing was intact I removed the bulb from the old housing and put the bulb from this unit in it. I also used the leads from the original unit as they seemed of much higher quality than the replacement leads. It worked quite well.Another problem is the old housing is poorly marked. The installation of this bulb was remarkably easy. It cam already packaged in the proper housing. (Apparently not all of them do.) It went in easy. The housing was truly a proper replacement. I had to loosen/remove 1 single machine screw on the right hand side of my TV, when looking from the front. Remove the old bulb, put the new one in, and put the cover back in place. All in all I was being extremely careful, and interrupted by a curious 2 year old and it still took me less than 5 minutes.The bulb has been bright with no color skewing. It has continued to work perfectly since I put it in. The TV is used probably 3 hours a day and has been running on the new bulb for about 30 days.The manual that came with was multi-lingual.
