Reseña del editor An orchestral presentation of The Who's 1973 groundbreaking album and seminal rock opera, featuring performances by Pete Townshend, Billy Idol, Phil Daniels (the original star of the film, Quadrophenia) and British tenor Alfie Boe. This magnificent work chronicles the British Mods of the 60's, the joys and pains of young adulthood, and the familiar feelings of loneliness and longing for love and human connection. Críticas Conductor Robert Ziegler remembers seeing The Who while he was growing up in Los Angeles and later met Townshend while working on a radio documentary about film- maker Ken Russell, who directed the film version of Tommy. It s in my blood. I grew up on rock music and always had that fantasy of being a rock singer before I trained as an opera singer. I ve always thought the classical voice can lend itself to this type of repertoire. It s harder than opera, but thrilling to sing.
